The Creators Behind the Show
Michael Cusack and Zach Hadel are the minds behind Smiling Friends. They met through online animation circles. Both have roots in internet humor and viral videos. Cusack is from Australia, and Hadel is from the U.S. They teamed up to make something fresh. Their style draws from old cartoons and modern memes. They write, direct, and voice many characters. This hands-on approach keeps the show true to its vision. They wanted a series that feels chaotic yet heartfelt. Influences include shows like South Park for quick wit. But they add their twist with absurd plots. Adult Swim gave them freedom to experiment. That led to the show's unique feel. Cusack voices Pim and Allan, bringing energy to them.
