To make the two fundamental families more interesting to present day crowds, the showrunners took motivation from two very notable American administrations. Creation Architect Will Hughes-Jones affirms: “I say it’s the Kennedys versus the Kardashians.” The Featheringtons are the encapsulation of nouveau riche, meaning they come from new cash, so they are strong, conspicuous, and garish like the Kardashians. Interestingly, the Bridgerton family comes from old cash, similar to the Kennedys.
