The High schooler Who Tumbled From the Sky
Juliane Koepcke was 17 years of age when her plane flying from Lima, Peru to the Amazon crashed – leaving no survivors except for her. The plane was hit by lightning and broke into pieces, and – still tied to her seat – Juliane fell 10,000 feet down into the center of the rainforest. The teen spent the following 11 days in endurance mode, watching out for her injuries with gas and eating desserts from the pockets of a dead traveler she found while strolling.
