The man featured in the notable GIF/image of the person squinting is really Drew Scanlon. The GIF came from a live screen capture in 2013, when Scanlon was a video maker at a well-known gaming site called Monster Bomb. Scanlon had an intriguing response during one of the group’s week-after-week “Amateurish Fridays” shows. Scanlon looked as the proofreader in-boss Jeff Gerstmann played Starbound, a two-layered activity experience game. “I’ve been doing some cultivating,” Gerstmann said, “with my digger.” Scanlon’s response to this assertion then turned into a definitive image.
