The battle film Apocalypse Now was directed by way of Francis Ford Coppola, who insisted that the film needed to take area in the Philippines. Everyone had to be flown out, and set designers were requested to build an entire village within the Philippines rather than building it in a Hollywood studio like they have been used to. Unfortunately, a typhoon hit not too long after, which caused important damage within the village, which ended up taking about $1.Five million to rebuild.
