90% of Icelandic Lady Strolled off the Gig in 1975
In the late October of 1975, there was a ladies’ strike in Iceland as they battled for equivalent privileges. The strike brought about a greater part, around 90%, of ladies leaving their positions and sending the whole country into a breakdown. Their male partners were dazed and couldn’t keep the nation running with half of the populace picketing. The outcome was the Icelandic Parliament passing an equivalent compensation regulation and, within ten years, choosing a female President.
