In 1944, Walter and Werner were shipped off Auschwitz-Birkenau, the biggest of the German Nazi death camps during The Second Great War, where over 1.1 million everyone lost their lives. Auschwitz was the main camp to tattoo Jewish detainees as they showed up. Unimaginably, Walter and Werner showed up around the same time and were inked only ten numbers separated: A1828 and A1838, yet regardless of being in the camp simultaneously, they had never met until this gathering, after seventy years.
