#8 “Shoe-in”
We always hear this saying but did you know that ‘shoe-in‘ is not even correct? Well, not unless you are literally talking about shoes.
The correct saying is “shoo-in” and yes, the word used is ‘shoo’. The history behind this saying is because it was derived from horse jockeys that wanted to make their horse run even more faster.
Example:
“That new employee is definitely a shoo-in for the administration position.”
