It’s not difficult to commit an error when you’re saying this expression. In any case, consider this-assuming you are attempting to express that two things are something very similar, you should say ‘one and the same’, and not ‘one in the same.’
Example:
“Maybe they are one and the same, that is why I cannot solve the case.”
